How do I Unpack the Zip file after I download my product?

All downloadable products purchased from Garritan will be delivered in zip archives. A zip archive is essentially a compressed file which contains the files you need for installation. Delivering compressed files over the internet this way is standard and makes for faster and efficient downloads.

To access the files you need to first uncompress or extract them. Nearly every modern personal computer (Windows or Macintosh) comes with software that will automatically know how to uncompress .zip files. Typically double-clicking the file executes this function. Windows users may also be able to select "extract" by right-clicking the file. If you are experiencing difficulty uncompressing a file with the native windows utility, try using a utility like WinZip or WinRar to unpack the zip file to a temporary directory and run the installer from there (Windows only).

There is also a know issue with Macintosh's own uncompressing utility which doesn't report errors in regard to file integrity. In such a case you should use The Unarchiver .

Once you've successfully unzipped the zip files, it is recommended you make a backup of your downloaded files. Also, make sure you save the manual before deleting the zip file.

IMPORTANT: To avoid installation problem, don't move the samples data folder. Always execute the installer when having Samples data folder in it's default location. By default,  the samples data folder stands beside the installer.
